Saint Clair Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010

 

Pungent and powerful aroma of gooseberry and herbs, lemon citrus flavours burst out of the glass in this typical Marlborough savvy. Lovely summer drinking with dollops of sweet ripe fruit and a long lively finish, about $19 in NZ.

Marsden Bay of Islands Syrah 2009

Main Divide Tehau Reserve Waipara Valley Pinot Noir 2008

 

Smoky savoury oak seamlessly combined with concentrated ripe cherry flavours, beautifully textured wine tightly constructed and still developing, sharply priced at around $33 in NZ.

Delicate crisp almost bone dry wine, cinnamon and pear juice flavours, impressive balance of fruit and acid with clean dry finish, great food style, about $28 in NZ.

 

Akarua Central Otago Pinot Noir 2009

 

Enticing bouquet of cherries plums and spice, sweet fruit, fine elegant tannins, and long lingering finish, about $38 in NZ, not to be missed is the Akarua Reserve Pinot Noir 2009 a real stunner with potential for 3-4 years development ahead, about $55 in NZ.
